Safety

Our focus is safety; your focus is which line to take

Safety Culture

Whether you’re on the snow or in the air, the safety of our guests is the most important concern at Eagle Pass Heli. We operate to the highest industry safety standards and are proud to be members of HeliCat Canada. While we share and understand the thrill of adventure, discovery, and riding challenging terrain; hazard avoidance and proper terrain selection are important tools, however, as in all ski/board activities in the mountains, there is always some level of associated risk.

To manage and minimize these risks each Guest is equipped with avalanche safety and rescue equipment and professionally trained on what to do in the unlikely event of an avalanche occurrence, or emergency scenario. An in-depth Helicopter safety briefing is done on the morning of the first ski day with your Guide and Pilot.

Guides

The Guides at Eagle Pass are fun and devoted mountain professionals.  All Guides are certified members of their respected Associations; ACMG (Association of Canadian Mountain Guides), CSGA (Canadian Ski Guides Association), CAA (Canadian Avalanche Association). In-house training such as on-mountain rescue and first aid courses occur throughout the year.

All EPH guides attend yearly Continued Professional Development sessions presented and hosted by industry leaders. The guides meet twice daily to develop a ski plan for the day and discuss safety, snowpack, weather information, avalanche hazard, and snow conditions.
